Alabama Launches Veteran’s Resource Website

I meant to post this last week, but time got away from me.  The Alabama Department of Veterans Affairs has launched a website that helps Veterans find the resources that are available in the state.  It is  Here is the AlaVetNet press release announcing the website.

Take a look at the website.  It is divided into the different regions of the state and also searchable by the different type of resources.  It is very user-friendly for Veterans that are not very computer savvy.  It is updated every quarter with more agencies and companies providing resources to veterans.

If you are a governmental agency or a 501(c)(3) you can contact the Department of Veterans Affairs at AlaVetNet@Governor.Alabama.Gov and include the information listed below.  If your organization has multiple locations, the department requests that you make an application for each location.

  • Name of the organization
  • Website address
  • Which of the following services you provide: Behavioral Health, Education, Employment, Family Services, Housing and Living, Legal, Medical, Transportation, and/or Miscellaneous
  • Indicate which county your office is located in or if your services are based online, statewide, or federally.
