Geeslin v. Online Information Services, Inc. and Chief Justice Roy S. Moore

In this case a Mr. Geeslin sued the Chief Justice and On-line Information Services, Inc. for being charged extra fees to file civil lawsuits.  It is based upon then Cheif Justice Malone’s order that all civil cases of people that were represented by an attorney had to be filed electronically.   Trial court dismissed both parties based upon state immunity.  Supreme Court affirmed all of the decisions based upon claims for monetary awards but reversed the claim for declaratory judgment against then Chief Justice Malone, ruling that Chief Justice did not have the right to issue such an order without the other Supreme Court Judges being involved.
